Getting help in Korea without speaking Korean

You do not need Korean to report an emergency. 1330 puts an interpreter on the line, and 112 takes a report by text message.

Report through an interpreter

Call 1330 and speak your own language. The operator calls 112 or 119 for you and stays on the line to interpret. You can report without speaking any Korean.

Text 112 instead of calling

If you can't safely make a sound, send a text message to 112. You can attach photos and video, and your location is found automatically.

Messages that are not in Korean can take time to translate. If you can speak, the 1330 interpreter is faster.
